Statistical designs

Statistical designs provide a framework for statistically testing the impact not only of the treatment but also of other factors. In the case of statistical designs the researcher randomly assigns treatments to randomly chosen test units and the treatments are then systematically applied. The statistical analysis tool often used with these designs is analysis of variance. This can help to determine whether one factor (the treatment) significantly affects another factor or whether the observed changes are caused by some other factors or even by chance.
