Creating alphabetic wordlists counting frequency of word occurrence

This may be used in connection with responses to open-ended questions, to obtain frequency counts. However, it may be much more useful in the context of analysing focus group interview data or even depth interviews. In order to obtain an initial idea about where the emphasis of discussions has been, it is often useful to compare the frequencies of the occurrence of words and phrases used in discussion and to examine the context in which they have been used.

Several computer programs can help in this particular task, for example, Longman Concordance. Such programs produce an alphabetic list with frequency counts.
